  • Nite Owls

    Fri 07 Feb 2020

Dear Parents and Carers of Reception children,

Next Thursday 13th February, Night Owls will be visiting Reception. We would like to invite Year 1 to join the Reception children for this experience. The Night Owl team will be giving a presentation using their trained birds of prey. The school is not being charged for the visit, however you will have the opportunity to purchase a photograph of your child holding a beautiful Barn Owl, which is a lovely souvenir of what will be a fantastic experience for the children. The organisation try to make the photographs as reasonably priced as possible and you will be able to purchase one 7x5 print with mount for £8.00 or two 7x5 prints with mount for £10.00 (enlargements are also available). There is no obligation for you to purchase these photographs. Please do not send money in before our visit as a proof copy of the photo will be sent out after the event with the option to purchase at that point.

It’s a fantastic opportunity for the children to experience these amazing birds and I’m sure it will be an exciting visit for all.

    Many thanks,

    Games Afternoon – Friday 7th February 2020

As I am sure your child has told you, on Friday the School Council and Eco Warriors have organised a games afternoon to raise money for the Australian wild fires appeal. They are asking for a suggested donation of £1 from each pupil.

The children will spend the afternoon playing games. This may involve sports games, team building games, computer games, board games and many more. Children have asked if they can bring in their own games. Children are allowed to bring in any game they wish, with parental permission, which is not of high value either personally or financially. Although we teach our children to value theirs’ and others’ possessions we cannot guarantee there will not be any accidental damage. Children could bring in a board game, top trumps, trading cards etc. Anything brought in will be kept by the teacher in an allocated box or area until the afternoon.

If you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to speak to your child’s class teacher.

    Yours sincerely,

West Hill School Council and Eco Warriors
