Dear Parents and Carers,
I have made the decision to keep Oakfield, West Hill and Temple Hill CLOSED on Friday 2nd March. The decision to close a school is never taken lightly, however, given the amount of snow that has fallen county-wide in the last 48 hours, and the fact that a weather warning remains in place for tomorrow, I am making the decision to remain closed now, in order to give parents as much warning as possible.
Our site managers have been to clear paths across our schools today. As fast as they were being cleared, snow fall and snow drifts were covering the paths, making them icy and dangerous. Many of our staff live away from Dartford and there would be a very high likelihood that these staff would be unable to travel in to school.
The weather forecast takes a positive turn for the weekend, which means we of course hope and expect to be operating as normal on Monday - but confirmation messages will be sent out on Sunday.
Enjoy the rest of the week and the weekend with your children.
