No Limits, Only Possibilities
Fantastic New EYFS Area!
Towards the end of Term 4, I eagerly organised a parent working party to help redo our EYFS outdoor classroom area. Letters had been sent out to parents inviting them into school on either Tuesday 29th April or Wednesday 30th April. Lunch was to be provided and all sorts of materials had been brought into school, donated towards the makeover.
We excitedly anticipated the days which would turn such a great space into the perfect area for children to learn through play, deeply engaging into all the many different areas that we had planned to create but mostly enjoying their days at school. We had over 25 people who gave up their time to come in and help out in so different ways. We were able to build, reorganise, clean, paint, laugh, build relationships, eat and started to dream up even bigger plans, thanks to these very special helpers.
On Wednesday evening, when tools were packed away and staff sat reminiscing, on what could only be described as the most incredible outcome, we couldn’t help but think of how the Reception children were going to just love their new outdoor classroom and what special memories were going to be made whilst using all the new areas for learning.
I would like to personally, once again thank each and every person who gave up their time to come in and be part of such a fantastic project. From people who delivered donations, to spending an hour or more of their free time helping out, popping back in between errands, going off to the shops to buy extra bits, making trips to the ‘tip’, to giving up a whole day (or both) to help transform our EYFS outdoor classroom environment.
I confidently can say that your time has and will continue to make a massive impact in the Reception children’s learning. We have completed what seemed like a dream a few months ago and look forward to sharing out next project news with you soon.
With gratitude,
Mrs Alanah Maw
